The African King
#WritcoPoemPrompt18

"I walk across the golden sands,
Leaving footsteps of my memories,
Follow me across the lands,
Let's celebrate our victories...

We Conquered thousands of acres,
Of this sun-burnt path,
We are drenched in the glories
Of a Golden Yellow Bath.

Our Victory seems the greatest of all
For we come from the Northern Provinces,
Where the sun is mild and gentle
And bows down to us, we princes!

The sky covers us from all harms,
The rain kisses our feet,
There, where we adore our dwellings
With pieces of snowflakes and sleet!

And that we have a fair skin
The symbols of Might and Love!
Our skin can be a challenge at times
To that of the Moon and the Dove!

What do you have pride for?
These sands? Had you thought them
To be pieces of gold?Or that huge
Rock to be a gem?"
Mocked the fair Prince
At the defeated African.

"No, I had not!
For the sands are pricier than gold,
The stone brighter than a gem!
For I have not yet sold
My humanity and shame!

I have love in my heart
For my family, my motherland!
And for every person who is ever born,
On this pure sea of sand!

But oh! How will you understand this?
You, who finds the Sun Moon and the Sky
To be nothing but your slaves?

You, who has a cold block of stone
In your chest rather than a heart!
That, so solid gives no room for Humanity and Kindness!

Your materialistic mind knows
Nothing but wealth and possessions!
While for my heart and mind and soul,
Honesty, Friendship and Love are the greatest obsessions!

Oh Prince! Hailing from the Northern Province!
What do you have pride for?
What do you do if the snow and sleet that
Adores your threshold, threatens to freeze you to Death?
Do you think that those gems and gold and
Your fair white skin will be your savior?
We have the warmth of Love and Humanity for that!"
Mocked back the real Winner
The African 'King' !
