In the void of your absence, my heart shattered apart,
My mind too played its deceitful part.

My eyes compelled to weep,
My heart condemned to solitude's deep.

As the pain surges through my veins,
To shield myself from its relentless strains,
The fragments of me that remain,
I gather them with trembling hands,
To mend them anew, only to break once more,
In the night's dark, cold, empty hue,
Your absence is all I see, and know in my view.

I pacify my desolate soul with false promises,
To keep it from succumbing to despair's abyss.
These follies I embrace, to numb the ache,
To endure the days and nights for your sake,
I know you wouldn't want my end,
To be a tragedy caused by your absence.

Forgive my foolish actions, my dear,
For it's all I have left to hold me near.
The precipice of death awaits,
My end it contemplates.
