The Great Battle With The Ten Headed Enemy
#WritcoPoemPrompt40

Light the lamps for the king returns,
Victorious and valiant,
In an eternal battle with,
A ten headed enemy.

Behold his sight,
Coming forth with battered armour,
Amidst the cheers of victory,
And the joy of salvation.

Oh, woe the day of the great battle!
How the people quaked!
How the kingdon shook!
How the mountains howled!

In great spurns of courage,
Didst the king ride,
On a strong and poweful horse,
As black as gleaming obsidian.

The very ground shook,
Like thunder through the sky,
As the hoofs of the horse bounded,
To meet with the great enemy.

Cries of battle sprung,
From the hearts and mouths of the people;
And the king, wild with courage,
Lifted his gleaming blade.

Admist the looming mountains,
Did the ten headed enemy stand;
The king's silvery sword reflected,
The harrowing victory to be claimed.

The enemy growled and roared,
From the ferocious mouth,
Of its ten ugly heads,
And it pranced on great, tree-like feet.

In another holler of heroism,
The king didst swing his sword,
And it slashed down a head,
Of the ten-headed enemy.

In a growl, in a roar,
That shook the whole country,
Lunged the enemy in a fierce attack,
Whilst thrown, into a fit of unrestrained ire.

The king swung his mighty sword,
Again and again,
And the heads of the enemy,
Went dropping upon the ground.

In a final thrill of victory,
Didst the brave king enthrust,
His silvery sword within,
The grotesque flesh of the enemy.

Oh, how the enemy fell,
In a woeful throe of defeat!
Just as David had vanquished,
The mighty and ferocious Goliath!

Now, the entire kingdom is thrown,
Into a frenzy of rejoicing,
And merriment fills every corner,
As balladries of the king's bravery are sung.

Oh! Light the lamps for the king is returned,
In joyous moments of merriment,
As all the people rejoice,
For the defeat of the ten headed enemy!
