Run says the cat to the rats infront of its nose,
Run says the cat but the rats, they froze,
His owner saw him corner them as a smile came to her face,
His owner was glad that she would finally rid them out of her place,
But the cat was not as delighted to get rid of all the mouse,
He feared of what would become of him if he rid them all from out of the house,
He had bad habits, prideful and petty,
His owner could hardly put up with him already,
But she had been afraid of rats for years,
But prideful, petty puss was the answer to her fears,
If he could he would leave all the rats but he would be replaced for his poor ability,
So he had to do just enough to be useful, but not too much to give her total serenity,
Three rats stood before him, only one could he eat,
Two needed to be left to multiply but they were frozen on their feet,
Prideful petty puss snarled, and lift his paws so two could run away,
And his plan worked wonders, two ran in a flash and one was lunch that day,
His owner was slightly displeased at the blunder he made,
But nevertheless she was glad that there was one less thing that she had not to be afraid,
Prideful petty puss smirked for his plan worked without fail,
BUT! it was a pity he didn't know that the two that got away, were males.
