Departures
It's funny how people may leave but continue to stay regardless
How their voices still ring through the empty rooms as though they're still present
How the only shadow left is mine but the house is still alive....and warm
The vibrations of running feet, clattering pots and music still echo through the hallways like they never ceased
Sometimes so real it's hard to distinguish and accept that I am alone
Or better yet maybe I'm just lonely and still hurting over the lose
One thing I've come to learn about departures is that people leave but the memories don't go with them
Instead they live on....as memories suspended in time
