We're You a Conker Conqueror?
Back in my schooldays
When October came around
Boys would seek out the best conker
That fell upon the ground.

Such shiny brown chestnuts
Protected in their spiky case
Were prized for their size
And strength to amaze.

So, in the school playground
The challenge was set
To see whose conker would be
The best that's been seen yet.

Conkers were swiftly swung
On a piece of strong string
Aimed with great precision
To be the conquering king.

The winner was the one
Who smashed his way through
And became the champion,
The very best anyone knew.

Now, I sit reminiscing
In my comfy leather chair
And sense my mind cast me back
To those days when I was there.
