Pathways to Solitude
Even before the day I was born
we shuffled from place to place
living in spaces not our own to keep
but how we made each our home
as moments developed into our pictures
to turn the pages of our albums
the more we held the key.
For each year I hugged
no less than one new friend.
No make too few and little
to earn our beams and laughs,
those days I kept drawing
the make of the bedroom
I dreamt the most.
On the roads that took me
I looked out the window of my car seat
to see a tower on the rise,
its green nets concealing
walls yet to be made
to catch every falling
to my mind's surprise.
Until...
