Serenade
In her bed, I softly close my eyes,
Weary from watching her in peaceful sleep,
Yet, an eerie sound awakens me,
Darkness hides what secrets it may keep.
Skeletons in closets, secrets to hold,
Whispers of shadows, hauntingly unfold,
Muggy air wraps like a shroud,
Shivers crawl, Fear’s icy grasp enfold.
