The darkness whispers, shrouding peaceful nights in gloom, 
As sadness steals away. 
The heart, once full, now in a swoon— 
Saddening, isn't it?

The breeze whispers tales of innocence long since flown, 
A sorrowful tune, 
As the heart, once filled with innocence, is now cloaked in sorrow and regret— 
Sorrowful, isn't it?

The heart, drowning in sorrow’s relentless tide, 
The rain falls but can’t provide peace, 
Pain and shame rage in my soul— 
Pitiful, isn't it?

Like a treasure chest locked and hidden deep, 
The sorrowful heart its secrets keeps, 
Concealing all that makes the soul wail. 
From afar it gleams, a promise of jewels, but not all jewels sparkle— 
Isn't it saddening how much pain the heart can conceal?
