Acceptance
"Take me as I am
hold me by the arm."
Are lines of a song
in our childhood together we sung.

Cluster of kids we were
under the tree, we fare.
Danced through the night,
fun at our every gathering day or night.
We played our grudges away
we forgave each other everyday
and never played back the past.

Now what are we
what pain we inflict, that won't heal.
Where did we bury our acceptance
of our differences, our tolerance
of each other, we had in abundance.

We live now, a short fuse
ready to spark instead of to fuse,
in Love, in warmth of each other's cuddle
our troubles as adults, we ought to handle.

Find me at peace
am here to offer peace in return
don't look away, don't turn.
Let's sort this out
before it gets out of hand
and our friendship rotten
for nothing.

I know how far apart we've grown
branches of the same tree,
same values we hold at three.
Our education,
teachings from Western ideology,
bores pride, no apology,
sayings from failed elders,
who failed at keeping such a long distance bond,
Makes our struggles to make up, abound.

Ways we came across
has lead us astray.
We can still change the grey,
these areas we could improve,
our friendship, let us colour,
for we have been apart for so long.

I accept your changes
I'd only see their advantages.
"Hold me by the arm
take me as I am"
