His heart is beating,
his brain still thinks,
his nerves work fine
and his eyes still blink.
But alas! He's not alive.
For there's no soul inside,
no wish, no desire, no will,
and no strength by his side.
Life's giving him pain,
and he's just taking it.
Though everything was taken away,
he's barely making it.
He goes to work, he earns,
he can run over a mile.
But when you see him you can't help but notice
that he has lost his smile.
He wishes to die everyday,
but ends up being bold.
Alas! he's not alive..
for all that he feels is cold.
