Stuck wondering who wrote this tale of hurt so complex
Try to turn the page but i have a feeling I know what’s next

The characters they come and go while the story stays the same
If the author came around I’d love to know his name

Boy meets girl and it doesn’t work out so boy moves on and adds to his collection of doubt
This time is different, it’s bound to work out

Don’t get your hopes up kid, the problem is you
Fantasizing of a love story too good to be true
Dragging around all these problems you’re yet to work through
Hoping the next one will push you but you’re unwilling to move

Yearning to make her happy and smiling all the while
You can smile all you want it, still stuck in denial

Trust doesn’t come easy so you move forward all weary
Abandonment comes frequent, see it coming so clearly

Overly anxious and sad, just burry its fine
But keep the shovel handy, it’ll come out in due time

Emotions on your sleeve, they can read it across the room
What girl wants an emotional mess with a side of impending doom

It’s a hard read to say the least, not for the faint of heart
If you’re thinking of getting into reading, the story of my life probably isn’t the place to start
