Forgotten Nostalgia
#WritcoPoemPrompt115
Threw out old boxes,
Regrets and photographs,
Empty pockets and lockets,
Analysing emotions psychosis,
Tearing out the overthought graphs,
Everything out in the open no more secrets

On silent streets where shadows fall so low,
I hear the echoes of a long- last woe,
The wind whispers tales of forgotten years,
Of broken hearts that shed countless tears,
In twilight's hues, nostalgia's embers glow,
Rekindling memories of love's sweet afterglow,

A cherished face, etched in my mind's abyss,
Lost in the void of remembered bliss,
Frail moments stolen, never to replay,
Lost in time's relentless, swift decay,
And yet, through the veil of forgotten lore,
Whispers of love and longing I explore,

A fleeting touch, a ghostly trace I feel,
From a time when hearts were free to heal,
In these quiet depths, where dreams reside,
My heart's lament, forever shall confide,
But as the moonlight dances on still water,
I must release all what I can no longer alter,

For time, the merciless thief that it may be,
Deprives us of what once set our hearts free,
Yet, let us not weep for what is lost,
But, treasure the memories, dear at all cost,
For in forgotten Nostalgia's tender art,
Love's essence remain, forever in our heart.
