everyone is deep to a certain degree,
although they may appear shallow,
hiding things afraid others might see,
making parts of themselves invaluable,
the past controls over our reactions,
it cannot be erased but it can be rewritten,
to a place where one can find hope,
or wallow in darkness,
find comfort in & never learn lessons,
get the peace we want,
& still be without optimism,
nevertheless,
your experience is your own,
& it’d be nice if others could share,
at the end of the day what matters most,
is that the feelings you held were real.
