Northern Lights
Phantom blues and greens race across the sky
Fair and pale, they contrast against the blackness
And after only a few moments,
Blue and green fade to darkness-
Violet and red
Bleed across the horizon.
Ghostly energies
Appear, and an instance later
Vanish,
In the blink of an eye.
Green and Blue hues peal
Tearing the skin,
Purple and red rip muscle away
Leaving only a skeleton
The base of who I am
Neglect and bereft of a shell left to hide in
The darkness encompasses me
As the last lights of my identity race away
Across the starless night sky.
