Someone once asked me
"Why do you waste your
time writing poetry that
people might not even read?"
I softly smile and said
"Because out there somewhere
is someone that does read it
and in my pages of poetry
find the answer they need "
He gave me a skeptical look
and walked away,
Again I smiled and went about my day

Years later I saw him again,
He had a tear in his eye and
said "Alot has happened from
now to then"
He stared into the distance,
Pain, and heartbreak clearly
displayed on his face,
When he started talking my
heart shattered for his sake,
Never have I seen a man more broken
than in that time and space
...
