see my land,
once glorified,overrunned by
swindlers,liars and cheats
once upon a time,my people
were adorned in riches
now they walk in shameful rags.

I weep the ruination,
stripped off all endowment,depleted
A mighty giant cutdown
made a mockery,a mimicry,a mute
while injustice speaks
and equity dines with corruption

As rivers runs,so do my tears,
cultivation of Greenery abandoned
As crude leaders scramble for crude
their putrid smell of greed
befouling the waters and air
contaminating the alluvial soil

oh such a pity!
that we once ate the finest meals
sparred with great nations
revered as a people of affluence
now beggars and scavengers
make up the populace

I mourn the negligence,
of enlightenment and knowledge
the young and youthful are yielding
to the doddery to rule
our luxury peculated by selected few
while we pawn through refuse for food

see my people,
capitulating to squalor
their rights forsaken while they pass blames
My people are guilty
guilty of not owning responsibility
guilty of looking away, while things fall apart.
