Before she slept

She took a look

At her red book


Before she left

And hit the road

She wrote a note


She promised them

She would return

She told she would


She moved away

Far from her home

From yesterday


She knew that day

Her life would change

And theirs stay


A better world

A world of bliss

She was promised


Yet there was pain

Still there was fear

But in the end

The sky turned clear


Her life had changed

As theirs stayed

And forgotten


A girl on fire

She rose to fame

She was the dame


She had her wins

She played good game

She made a name


She made some sins

Her name was stained

She incurred shame

Went down in flames


She had it all

She had stood tall

But soon enough

She met her fall


She realised

That all the while

There was something

She was missing


She remembered

The note she wrote

Before she left

Her buried root


She promised them

She would return

She told she would


She was in tears

For many years

This girl had been

Away from home


And so

That chilly night

Before she slept

She took a look

At her red book
