She stuck her thumb out. This was the first car she'd seen in three hours. She stopped walking. She was quietly praying, please stop, please help me, I've been walking for hours, I need water, I need to rest, I need help. The car stopped! I got in. We drove off into the sunset and left the road behind. I left it all behind. I'll never do that again!
