An Elegy for RinTinTin :
An Elegy For RinTinTin:

Here he was, here he stood,
Always at the other end of the hood;
If a stranger passed by,
He’d be there, a spirit nearby.

We built him a little shed,
He grew reluctant, feeling dread;
This street was entirely his,
Both child and adult, he was.

We named him RinTinTin,
Adored him like a kin;
Yet he was always free,
His love for the street, endless as the sea.

The street meant RinTinTin,
He wanted love, not food within;
His black tail wagged with glee,
His eyes sparkled with love's decree.

The whole neighborhood adored him so,
Open were the homes for his glow;
RinTinTin was their guard,
To enemies, he stood hard.

Time brought him pain to bear,
Howls mixed with barks in the air;
RinTinTin was dying without a mate,
Not wanting to leave his fate.
