As I stand in front
of the mirror today,
My own reflection
seems alien to me,
Feels like I am
nowhere to be found,
My good old self is
beyond recovery;
Always thought I was
not deserving of,
Worthy enough for
your love and care,
Constantly adjusting
to fit your fancies,
While I lost my true
self unaware,
They say, we are drawn
to those who mirror
our self-worth,
Even if it's a mistake,
we accept the love
we think we deserve,
only if my self-worth
was higher, I would have
chosen someone, for whom,
I wouldn't have to change,
and the real me would
forever stay preserve!
