You hunger to inspect the sky,
so let’s erect my telescope
and watch as Venus passes by—
No need to be a xenophobe!

Your fingers on the focus knob
bring everything to sharp detail
A little effort does the job
revealing all the Milky Way

My telescope is stronger than
the smaller ones you used handheld
I hope you linger longer when
your fingers cross Orion’s Belt

Stay open to the field of view
and try to find the Pleiades,
and from that spot we’ll travel to
the first of many galaxies!
