Don't let the people hurt you
As they have never seen your real self
They are absent when you win
They are absent when you lose
And yet, they always find something to say about you
The days you work your ass off, they won't be there
The days when you cry in your bed, they won't be there
They days when you feel powerless, they won't be there
And the days when you succeed, they also won't be there.
So don't expect any praise or criticism for your acts
Because they don't know you
People are full of assumptions
And usually they have no idea of what's going on
So they will judge you
But you - don't judge them
As they are blind and clueless
Don't let their words get to you, whoever they are.
And appreciate the kindness, if you receive any
Don't be clueless like the rest, but grateful
If anyone's kindness has ever helped you through your tough days, be grateful
The ones who gave it to you weren't blind like the rest
The ones who shared a piece of happiness with you deserve the best.
