fading dreams
In fields of green, where sunlight once shone,
A lonely dandelion stands all alone.
Its petals, once vibrant, now wilted and gray,
As tears of sadness fall, day by day.

Once a symbol of joy, a beacon of hope,
Now discarded and trampled, unable to cope.
The world sees a weed, an unwanted sight,
But beneath the surface, a heart filled with plight.

Each gust of wind carries its fragile dreams,
Scattering them far, like forgotten schemes.
No longer admired, no longer adored,
The dandelion's spirit feels broken and ignored.

Its beauty, once praised, now deemed a flaw,
As it yearns for love, for acceptance, and more.
But the world turns a blind eye to its pain,
Leaving the dandelion to wither in disdain.

Oh, how it longs for a gentle touch,
A kind word, a smile, meant for so much.
But instead, it's met with disdain and disdain,
Leaving the dandelion to endure endless rain.

So spare a thought for the dandelion's plight,
A symbol of resilience, hidden from sight.
For in its sadness, a lesson we find,
To cherish every soul, no matter their kind.
