crowded yet alone

In a space filled with faces so bright,
I sit alone, lost in the light.
A crowd of strangers all around,
Their laughter and chatter resound.

Their conversations swirl and twirl,
A whirlwind of words, a maelstrom of noise.
I search for a familiar smile,
A friendly face, a comforting joice.

But all I see are strangers' eyes,
Their glances cold, their hearts surprise.
I feel like a lonely ship,
Adrift in a sea of lips.

The room is full of laughter and cheer,
But I am the only one who fears.
The weight of my solitude bears down,
A heavy burden, a frown.
