AUGUST VISITOR
Who could have thought it was a reality rather than a dream?
We woke to the scariest nightmare.
The entrance of an invisible Enemy
An invisible August Visitor!
A tiny unseen beast it was.
COVID19– Corona Virus Disease 2019.

Cyst in Cyst says a Sonographer,
What a calamity in a tragedy.
Still struggling to survive the existing treats of life, yet another struck!
A big bang!
Invisible dwelling amongst visible
An uncelebrated cerebrity!
At our own watch it came raiding the entire universe!
Day after day, it took more lives than we could imagine.
A no respecter of any man, race, religion etc.
Few days of lockdown we thought
But it went on causing ruckus without a pause.
The figures taking a heavy toll
The monster keeps growing and blooming.

With the cure not in sight
It dared to make us inhuman
Living off from our normals
We were locked down like prisoners in our own houses
Confineded to a self contained space, we avoided each other like plagues
We covered from hair to toe,
Our breath nearly choked us.
Routine Washing of hands, we nearly washed off our destiny.

The effect was en masse
To everyone a portion was allocated
The health conditions were devastating and hicking.
Most Pregnant women were not left out.
With their existing pregnancy complications, more were added, Leaving them at the mercies of their prematured babies.

The youths became it's greatest prey.
Hopeless, jobless, clueless, helpless.
With schools and markets shut down
Our careers and businesses came to a pause.
Many lives were lost, many businesses meet their loot.
Hunger and sickness became a norm.
Many dreams for the year remained dreams rather than coming to reality.
At the mercy of the beast the youths were left to struggle for survival.

Day after day, night after night
It grew worse.
We resort to taking precautions as no cure was in sight.

We pray, we cry, and we hope
A miracle is to happen, we believe
That in the end, when help comes from above
They will be children left to welcome their parents home
And parents left to hug their children
And youths to grow old
But for now, until then;
We live!
