Well… It's because holes are like wrinkles to the moon.The wrinkles of old age, and the memories he experienced from the people around him. The people he helped while they were looking at him when they were in their hard time. The stories he heard about problems which people have. When he was looking at people who were lost in their lives. It's hurting him seeing people like this, and it makes holes in him.
But remember one thing. He is old and have so many holes and wrinkles, but still shine for you to see in your darkness...
