when constantly I long for comfort I never get
love never reciprocated
and a thorny hand to pat my back

when i laugh in agony, smile in languish
cry not for tears won’t leak out
joyful when I see the ruins of another man

when I look at my reflection in the mirror
and I see a being without a purpose
without existence, without a future

I am a prisoner of myself
when constant suicidal thoughts had become a norms
and I soliloquies for comfort
knowing fully well my existence is fabricated

I am a prisoner of myself
when I know my shoulders ache but I can’t drop this burden
as the world constantly chorus “you must be a man”
who am I to show weakness

I am a prisoner of myself
as my tragedies becomes my realities
I fight myself always to stay sane
the world has no pity for the downtrodden
