A fool's soliloquy in the shadow of love.
I’ve learned the ways of the world,
yet never the art of guile,
it's true, beloved,
i stand here as a simpleton, untouched by
the cunning of this world.
the world spoke to me in
whispers and shouts,
but my heart, oh my stubborn heart, never deciphered
who truly belongs and who was but
a fleeting shadow.
yet, beneath the burden of these unspoken wounds,
i sought to soothe your soul,
to mend your silent sorrows.
it was my own solitary
vow to surrender to love’s sweet demise,
and now,
even as i wither in silence, i’ve kept it hidden from you,
for i remain a fool,
lost in the labyrinth of longing....
