A Mirage

Last evening, you took me by my hand to your house,
something I had been yearning for years.
There were many people around, all happy, busy in their work.
Nobody took notice of me, and I felt relieved.
You went inside a room, full ofbooks, all around
and laid down on a cot with your eyes closed, hands resting on your chest.
I sat on a chair waiting for you to open your eyes,
taking in your sweet face, and your warm breath,
imagining how would it be if I tasted your lips.
I pinched myself to ascertain whether I was dreaming.
The pain gave me an assurance that it was real.
How happy I have been then!
It seemed I was seeing my god!
I came closer and bent down to kiss you.
Your arms locked me in and you bit my earlobe.
A fire flickered and the warmth pulsated my finger tips.
I shivered in ecstasy!
I wanted more of you and opened my eyes
but you drew far away and melted in the air.
The next hour, I lay on the bed with the wetness and tears coursing my eyes.
