The hiss.
I see a serpent when I sleep,
he lurks in the shadows
with glittery lime eyes.
Even when I close mine, I still see him,
and I know he knows I do,
but he only stares.
The look on his face is surely a horrifying one,
not to me though,
for I know he too is a lost soul,
and I hear his hiss when I die!
