On the clock, but really off the clock
avoiding paperwork like it's covered in poisonous barbs,
each one filled with boredom, I dare not get pricked
like my fellow drones, who never make it to lunch
their gray expressions file in one by one
to fill the break room with the aroma of monotony,
oh my god, I'm holding my breath
and this microwave still has a minute to go
I've been daydreaming since opening time,
turning a blank canvas into a Hollywood set
even if it is in my own head
I can't let this screenplay go to waste
In a corporate world, such a way is a sin
with the suits and ties, it's a terrible way to fit in
