Taken For granted
In shadows cast by love's embrace,
I found a heart to call my own,
A cherished soul, a warm embrace,
In you, my world had brightly shone.

A dance of dreams, our hearts entwined,
We soared on passion's tender flight,
But as I gave my heart, I find,
Your love slipped into dark of night.

The whispers of our promises made,
Now lingered in the cold twilight,
Where once was trust, now doubt's cascade,
A love that seemed to lose its light.

Yet still, I held on tight and fast,
For love's allure had bound me tight,
A prisoner to the haunting past,
The hope that love could still ignite.

Through tears that fell like gentle rain,
I yearned for love's sweet second chance,
To mend the heartache and the pain,
To heal the wounds, to re-advance.

But as the stars began to weep,
I learned a lesson, bittersweet,
To love with eyes not just the heart deep,
To find the love that's true, complete.

Though hurt may linger, love remains,
A phoenix rising from the flame,
In time, the heart will heal its pains,
And love will find its rightful claim.

So here I stand, strong and unbowed,
No longer taken for granted,
A heart that's wiser now, endowed,
With love, it's cherished and enchante
