Remarkable was the day of your birth,
Remarkable was your childhood,
And the years that followed too soon,
Remember your journey one last time,
Before you close your eyes...

Like a drop of water falling from the sky
You came to be one of us
So serene and yet everyone came out to ululate
For the ground had been left dry and cracked far too long
A drop of water was all they were praying for

But who was to know you'd fall into the Ocean?
Oh but Kalila, the waters are so vast, you can't tell one drop from the other
Just like that you blended in with the crowd

The coming was vital though the stay was so brief
Just like a drop in the ocean
So seemingly insignificant to all yet so important
Like all of us, in the end you were nothing but a moment in time
But Kalila, we don't remember days
We treasure moments
So before you close your eyes one last time
I want you to know
Like a drop in the ocean you were to me
