We pray for a better tomorrow
After the war's roar has died,
And the smoke of battle has cleared,
Peace descends upon the land,
A balm to all that feared.

The birds once silenced by gunfire,
Sing sweetly once more,
And children play among the ruins,
Of what was once a war.

The scars upon the earth remain,
A reminder of the cost,
Of those who fought and those who died,
And all that was lost.

But in the quiet of the aftermath,
Hope blooms like a flower,
And the people come together,
To rebuild their shattered power.

They plant new trees and sow new crops,
And build their homes anew,
And in the light of a peaceful day,
Their spirits are renewed.

The memory of the war still lingers,
A shadow on their hearts,
But with time and patience and love,
They'll make a brand new start.

So let us pray for peace on earth,
And work to make it real,
And banish war forevermore,
And all the pain it steals.
