A Consolation
#WritcoPoemPrompt94
Despite your accomplishments you believe your life is going nowhere, and future achievements are in jeopardy on the road to somewhere. Write a poem on it.
You reach out to
the shiny offering,
you want it too much,
and feel your hand grasp something.
The achievement is as pretty,
your eyes glitter for a moment,
you realise you've got something else,
that you'd have liked had you seen it.
It brings you moments of joy,
that give you a breather,
the pain subsides briefly,
but you don't feel the cheer.
It happens to be a consolation,
instead of the joy you pined for.
Though a prize nonetheless, enjoy it meanwhile,
you'll get your dream for sure.
