Tasting You
I was so thirsty you felt like cool water on a hot summer day.
Soon I drank of you what felt like perfectly hot tea that warmed my insides and put me to sleep.
It was like I dreamed you a Sunny Delight in a fridge full of club soda.
Your flavor changed to lemonade; which I love the taste of, but my heart burns everytime I drink it;
To tasting of the kool-aid I wanted as a kid but had outgrown, still drinking it cause it's all I can afford.
With age you became dry wine in a shallow glass leaving a residue of bitter on my tounge;
Distilled into my drunken vodka hangover; smelling of puke and regret.
The time has made me taste of you my coffee; no cream or sugar, just a blackness I can't stomach.
I had convinced my body that you were hydration until I tasted all of you.
