In the end it was just me and my thoughts,
A painful trap, long after you were gone
A beautiful, treacherous,
agonizing mess.
Maybe I didn't try, maybe you told the lies
But somewhere in the middle we fell into a mask
We say 'I love you' but are we fine?-
No one asks.
This bandaid you give me won't help my bleeding gunshot
I gave you roses to ammend-but what a silly thought.
You were only in it for the glittery fame
Here I was thinking you weren't playing a game
But wait-I'm not enough
You left me bound in these cuffs!
Everyday I wish I'd gone the extra mile
Yet everyday I know that you enjoyed the little quarrels
Your heart wasn't in it,
So here I am trapped in the chains, ready to quit
'Pity, what a shame'
'They were such a perfect couple'
'I hope he treated her right, never started a fight-'
Damn my heart keeps aching!
Every moment breaking-
Something deeper inside, that you left shattered
Why?
My mind is forever scattered
Make it make sense,
If you were unhappy why not just leave?
Why cheat on me and twist my mind to make me still believe?
Someday I will find the key
To break these chains you left on me
But for now I'll sit, untrusting, never let another in,
You could've said no to the first date
But instead you chose to sin.
