In youth's embrace, I danced with light so bright,
Innocence wrapped me, a tender delight.
Awareness dawned, and shadows drew near,
Now grown, I find solace, darkness sincere.

As an adult, the light holds no cheer,
Yet in the shadows, my confidant's here.
No judgments cast, no expectations weigh,
In darkness, I'm free, just me, as I may
