What Will Be Will Be
no one could tell how long the time
so better not waste it into a haze.
days are still dear and sublime,
life might be fast but not a race.

so treasure each and waking hour
thank the Lord for new daylight.
live again to work and scour
each day you will learn if you might.

it could be filled with twists and trouble,
but it’s known to the victors and the blest;
though might you gain some limp and hobble.
brave heroes are not made in rest.

let your days be short and heavy
so long your King is glorified;
trouble not your heart with weary
know that His plans won’t be denied.

the wheels of life will turn and roll
whether your own plans flow with that;
because there on the clock’s final toll
the query is Who and not What.

when the sunset takes its last salute
how would your days be numbered?
will doubts and fears be in compute
or will it be grace encumbered?

let not your soul falter in gloom
for what you have today is willed.
so whether in morrow or in doom
a heart in trust is a heart stilled.
