A Thread Through the Mirror
#InvisibleThreads

Looking in the Mirror
I saw a thread pass through.
One is attached to me,
And one binds her too.
She looks like me—
Sometimes elderly, sometimes youthful.
An average-looking girl wants to be beautiful.

She calls my name; she listens to me.
She convinces me to rethink—such a manipulating being!
Whenever I try to avoid her, she pulls that thread,
Making me do things her way.

She cries when I cry;
She laughs with me as well.
She can't speak without my will,
Yet she always has much to tell.

Sometimes she makes me nervous with her gaze,
Leaving me alone in an emotional maze.
Being suffocated, once I broke her spell—
About that day, I had nothing to tell.

She vanished, but her shadow remained—
A constant reminder of what she said.
She was not an enemy, nor my friend,
Just a fellow connected to me through an invisible thread.
