Dear Mama.
Dear Mama.
Dear Mama did you give me your unconditional love?
Did you gaze into my eyes with smiling pride?
Did you make me feel secure in your loving arms?
So as I might grow up a successful emotionally balanced young child.
Did you let me run free to discover the world?
And let me return when I felt scared or in harm.
Or did you keep me tied to your apron strings for way too long?
Afraid to let me go in case I'd never return.
Was your love conditional?
That I must perform to earn your love.
That I must reach some goal to buy your love.
Did you nourish me to make me strong?
So as I might survive in this challenging world.
Or did you hinder my every move ?
To control and restrain me and retard my growth?
Did you do your best to so I could be my best.
So that I could one day return you my unconditional love.
