Love Languages
There are days when I just,
sit and ponder over,
the question of whether,
am I loved or not?
The days when I just,
wander in the quest of love.

That is when I begin to see,
the pure emotion of love in,
everything that life shows me.
From the slightest gestures,
to the greatest sacrifices,
that my loved ones,
willingly make for me.

When my mother cuts up fruits for me,
and brings them to my room,
as I study with all my might,
to make her proud.
When my father makes food for me,
and spends hours in the kitchen,
only to see that smile on my face,
as I take the first bite of the treat,
and get lost in its scrumptiousness.

When my grandma carefully braids my hair,
with her warm and shaky hands.
When my grandpa tells me stories of his life,
and humorous tales of his times,
as he begins chuckling,
before completing his sentences.

When my brother quarrels with me at home,
and then defends me in public.
When I tell my father I liked something,
and he brings a whole bunch of it the next morning.
When I come home from school on a hot day,
and find a jug full of lemonade in the fridge,
only to realize that my mom made it.

When my friends remember,
to save a seat for me,
even when I'm the last person,
to enter the school.
When they remember to wait,
as I tie my shoelace.
When someone saves the last piece,
of my favourite chocolate.

When my sister and I cook in the kitchen,
and talk all night until we slip into slumber.
When my grandma tries to narrate stories,
but ends up falling asleep,
even before reaching towards the ending,
and I'm only left wondering,
what it could've been.

When they express,
gratitude over my existence.
When they read what I write,
to appreciate and encourage me more.
When they take care of things,
that matter to me,
and bother to be aware,
that I'm happy.
When they remember little things,
that make tons of difference to me.
When they remember what I like,
and present them as gifts to me.

When my mother makes sure,
that I don't sleep hungry.
When she wakes up before the dawn,
to get us ready for school.
When she covers me with a blanket,
to make sure I'm not cold.
When she makes sure not to put,
what I don't like into my food.
When she sends me an emoji,
after I taught her to do so,
and hopes that I feel proud.
When my father takes me out for a drive,
only to uplift my mood.

When someone checks on me,
only to know if I'm okay.
When I hear someone say,
"I read the book you told me about yesterday."
When someone makes me laugh,
till my stomach begins to hurt,
when I cried till my eyes turned red,
not so long ago.

When a kid tells me,
that he likes my company.
When people tell me,
that they find it healing,
to be surrounded by my energy.
When a kid brings me a card filled with colors,
and gives it to me with his tiny hands.
When my brother plays my favorite song,
to pacify me after we just quarrelled.

When my dad tells my sibling,
to share food with him,
only to give it to me.
When people who are too shy,
to verbally express their emotions,
simply to choose to do so,
through songs, hugs, flowers, words, poetries and letters.

I see love,
wrapped up,
in all such times,
with such warmth and gentleness,
that it brings tears to my eyes.
There isn't one moment,
when I'm not embraced by love,
for it's spread everywhere,
like the scent of soft petals.
Indeed, their actions and efforts,
are their love languages.
There's nothing that I treasure more,
than the feeling of this kind of love.
Perhaps, they were correct,
actions speak louder than words.
