You're your own motivation
When I drive in the wheel of success
Speeding my thoughts
Through my wornout brains
Gasping every breath that I can manage
Ignoring every traffic signs
My haemoglobin can transport
Through the veins of my streets
I hope dust won't blind the other
Motorist, for this journey
I travelled solo
In the thickets I entered in solitary
I cleared everything on my way
Bare-handed and the thorns
Damaged my soft skin
Blood covered my hands as evidence
My nails fell off for they couldn't
Stand the harsh environment I've
Introduced them to but as a Marine
I held on, as a Tank I stamped
On the hardest log, and poisoner's
Herbs, for I knew the rewards bestowed
On my way, hence I persevered
God brought me in this world with a twin
Family but this fight I faced alone
Now that I'm bruised
Damaged to the core
Both mentally and emotionally
Everyone has turned their backs on me
Even the love of my life has abandoned me
She said that the habitat that I'm in
Is so muddy and filthy
For she wants to be by my side but her
Hygiene and well-being is vital
To can assist in my struggle
Hence her note via mail of hell
To inform of her going separate ways
My heart dropped and nearly sunk
With the slow sand I nearly
Step upon at least my child
Kept me awake and vigilant
Now that I've made it and alone
Everyone wants to join me in the podium
Even my worst enemies are clapping
Their vicious hands for me
Like an orchestra concert
Everyone has invited themselves
To my solitude life
Congratulating me as if they were part of
This draining journey
My ex is even ready to cut ties
With her hubby in order to
Reunite with me and celebrate this
Yet she can't see that I'm still
Wet due to the storms I went through
The lighting which tore up my clothes
The mosquitoes which feasted on
My dear blood and I'm so skinny
For I couldn't eat proper during this
Cyclone in my life but let me
Put a smile and try to greet them
For now I'm feasting on the table
Of kings and queens and, those
Who have made it in life
The Lazarus curse is behind me
Mama I made it
I'm now a graduate; I got the job
Now I can be able to provide
For my girl and you guys
