I am proud to call myself Black
It is a blessing to say I am Black
From the color of my skin to the texture of my hair
I know I am beautiful, beaming, blissful and blessed

I am not afraid to say I am Black and proud like Rosa Parks
I am not gone sit in the back of the bus for nobody
We are a different ethnic group but that is okay
I wonder why life was harsh for Trayvon Martin and Rodney King


We all should have been treated the same
Life was not meant to be so racial
They said us Blacks will never have freedom
The Civil Right Movement fought for our freedom


Life was made for us humans to work together
I wish we can all get along and put a stop to segregation
No matter what you tell me
I am proud of my ethnicity and my heritage

I know I come from greatness
And I can achieve my goals
I am proud to call myself African American

Psalm 139:14- The Lord said I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made, I know that full well
The Lord has made a way for us all.
