I remember it like it was yesterday.
Don’t know why these memories are coming back now
I remember laughing and running with my brother to
the farm, going to fetch our houses livestock
I don’t know what happened after that
But I do remember him breathing heavily
down my neck.
I remember him telling my brother to
stop being stupid and run after the livestock
When I wanted to run along my brother’s side
He said I shouldn’t because I am a girl
It’s only for boys
And I also stayed because I was instructed to.
I remember him putting me down in the
grass , climbing of top of me
I still feel his weight on top of mine
I couldn’t breath
I didn’t understand what was happening because
I was only an infant.
But all the memories are back now.
I remember everything clearly like it happened yesterday.
