The Sun & Her Flowers
When I saw the sun and her flowers
I prayed to stand before her for even just a few more hours
Her daughters' brightening bloom
Seemed to make my world one room
Full of daisies and lilies
And the fluorescent hope of a future with the Aries
The stars, I no longer want
Snuff out every one
No more nights
Only the day I deem worthy
I want only the sun
Though at times, her gaze burns
I want her flowers
Though they make sick with their boasts of prowess
A poet's admiration
Would do their beauty no justice
Only God's form recognition
Could do the needful
And if He did spend the seventh day on creation
It would have been on the sun and her flowers.
