"Good ole Days"
Drawing back the "good ole days" would sure stur up some good ole praise.
Like when a Mans fine word tested to be good as gold,
or Grandads time was solely bested by the stories he told.
Back then every neibor was known, every last name we knew.
Tap water we would drink and the flag was flew.
If you think differently then to each thier own, as long as towards country or loved ones no harm was shown.
Come Sunday all the stores had locked doors while Gods house had feet on every inch of its floors.
Things were very real, from our mothers home cooked meal and yes we all knew the deal the table is where we sat and we knew better than to talk back or our hides would get pealed and that was a fact.
To school where teachers was stern but there we learned about the world and who we were.
The pledge was done every day and to God we would pray.
If the sun was in sight believe outside was how we played, in the dirt and we'd get hurt, no grown ups in sight nobody was afraid.
Stand tall, speak proud, have a firm hand shake,
work hard, family first, to be a man doing these and more is what it would take.
Loyalty and love meant something totaly different back then.
I'd give up royalty, I'd give up dreaming to have the chance to live back when.
Men and Women worked together to make things work.
Raised thier children, kept the land.
Things were simple, times were rough.
It made us tough and kept us true.
Im thankful for at least that part cause this new way has no heart.
