It's not love
The prettiest poisons are frequently disguised as love.
Shrouded in attention. Admistered with hugs
Kisses, sweet words, affirmation an intimacy
Just chasers for the deadly elixirs we drink willingly
We aren't falling in love we are dying for love
starving for authentic encounters.
Is it deception or denial to claim it as ours

Jealous of those
who have it unconditional
But any person can fold
Conditions matter improper exposure
corrupts the picture

out here justifying all the lows for an occasional high
calling it love and sticking to the lie
Killing our selves for close enough imitations
Cause we desire those fleeting sensations
Plowing thru many to find it again
Or anchoring stubbornly to a below par stand in

Accepting Deadly substitutes with just enough validity
to trigger vulnerability before the catastrophe of reality (sets in)
It's never as pretty when it ends
But loneliness leads to the next again
