The world is spinning
at sickening speeds,
I can't catch my breath.
The ground shifts from beneath me.
I am falling.

The force of reality, hits, causing
crushing pain and a concussion of denial.
I am stunned; broken, bruised,
and crying. Crying my soul onto the floor.

My vision clears but I am still blind
stumbling in the dark. I reach and wait
for your hand but still you deny me.
Your voice is a whisper in the shadows.
Not enough.

I see a light, out of the valley. It pulls me
away from you. I stand, sick, at this
crossroad, torn and broken. I wipe the tears
and travel toward my light, ready and willing
to shine my soul.
